We haven’t reviewed Courvoisier VSOP Cognac, but the company states:
“We use a blend from the Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne crus for our VSOP, giving it the Fine Champagne distinction. The unmistakable finesse of the vanilla, dried fruit and heady summer flower notes builds slowly while aging in French oak barrels for up to a decade. ”

Everyone knows the name Courvoisier. Napeoleon knew it nearly two centuries ago, and we all know it now. Unlike some other famous brands, Courvoisier deserves its name and reputation. Priced extremely reasonably, Courvoisier VS is one of the few VS-level cognacs out there that’s really worth drinking on its own, rather than using it for cooking and mixing. Ranging around $25 for 750ml, its cheap enough for an everyday drink, but has a smoothness and flavor on level with the VSOP’s of a number of other makers. Subtle flavors are subdued, unsurprising for a VS, but the smooth delivery and delightful finish makes this one of the best buys for the price. (more…)
We haven’t reviewed Courvoisier Exclusif Cognac, but the company states:
“The only cognac designed specifically to be mixed, Courvoisier Exclusif Cognac is a well matured blend, aged up to twelve years, from the four finest crus, the Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, Fins Bois and Borderies. The grapes, picked at their peak of maturity, give Exclusif its complexity and depth of gingerbread, dried plums and coffee notes. ”
